2017 Bon Dance

June 9 & 10, 2017

Lihue Hongwanji

Thank you to all who came . . . to help, to enjoy the dancing, to savor the delicious food and to just have fun.  The weather was a little less than

cooperative but we never-the-less had a wonderful bon dance this year.

Message from Bon Dance General Co-Chairmen

We had a successful Obon celebration on June 9-10!  Probably mainly due to the wet weather attendance was less than usual but everyone enjoyed the dancing, wonderful food, and seeing friends.  On behalf of Lihu'e Hongwanji Mission, we thank Rev. Kazunori Takahashi, the bon dance committee, members and friends of our temple, affiliated, sponsored (including Troop 83, Pack 83 and Girl Scouts) and associated organizations, drummers, singers, dancers, intermission performers from Kaua'i Shinbuyo Kai, Men of the Koi Dynasty, and Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko, and many who supported LHM with their presence, donations and hard work.  You all did Ted Inouye proud.  Please attend, support and enjoy Obo festivities at the other temples on Kaua'i and have a wonderful summer.
